A little corner of Source Creative

With a few things changing and moving here at Source we decided it was time for a revamp. Well it has been 10 years after all!

Catherine, that’s me & I’m Stephen’s OH, completed a 3D spatial and interior design course back in June 2011. As I was increasingly having to spend more time at Source Creative it seemed appropriate that I used Source to aid me in my final major project. I decided that completely re-configuring the spaces and moving things around would make the studio feel more like the design studio Stephen thought it should be. Unfortunately these kinds of changes always take time and I seemed to have suddenly accumulated a lot of ‘spare’ time.

So without keeping you waiting too long here are the images of the new, improved Source Creative.

We spent quite a few hours stripping, painting, cleaning, tidying, organising, binning, shopping, ebaying and scavenging from our own home to furnish and decorate and style. It was quite a mighty task but we had a pretty important deadline to meet. It was to be our 10 year Anniversary/Birthday and we were having a small gathering of clients and friends and wanted it reflect the new us.

We are very lucky that we have a house full of stuff that could be used such as paints and furniture and knick knacks so the project was done on a very limited budget but I think we’ve made vast improvements.

The project is far from completed as we are still deciding and collecting, prints & posters etc for the walls and there are a few small jobs that just need finishing. Overall though it’s a nice environment to work in and ‘it feels more grown up’ as one member of the team commented.

I’m very proud of the fact that I gained a triple distinction in my course and I have since joined the company and I’m lucky enough to have just finished helping with the interior revamp of Blakey’s cafe bar in Blackburn. I advised on decor and sourced some very well priced items for them as they had a limited budget and wanted it to make a big impact. We’ll add another post on this later.

So if you’re ever in the area and want to pop in to say hello please do and we may even offer you a brew…

  2. Thanks Claire. We are all happy with it and it makes for a more inspired mindset. Feels more grown up and how a design studio should be.

There are still a couple of things I want to finish but goodness knows when I’ll get time to do them?!

We miss you too!!! Keep in touch. x
